An absolute gem, Nicole. I used to know a woman who always went for exactly that kind of guy, until those flowers wilted and Hell wa no longer so homey.

That comment I made about the Gypsy – that was her. We were never lovers in the usual sense because that was the sort of man she could not resist. I still have copies of her orders of protection on a couple of those guys. But in the end, cancer was the enemy from which she could not walk away.
