It’s an eerie kind of alone when your world
comes crashing down and you’re on your knees with
nothing but agony for company.
When everything is spinning out of control
and you are powerless to get back what is gone
clarity hits hard.
How strange it is,
when a life shatters.
The sun still rises; traffic still jams
and people carry on.
It’s an odd feeling to scream into nothing
and ask for a pause
just for one second, to catch a breath.
Because life should stop for a moment, at that moment
when your world has fallen apart.
Just so you can catch your breath.
It’s a long road.
And when we walk
with pain
we walk alone.

This is true and now I am really remembering all those times my world came crashing and no one had any idea.

…not *always*. But I freely admit I’m one of the very lucky ones ❤
